News item is a text which informs readers about events of the day. The events are considered newsworthy or important. It means if there is an important event that should be known by many people.”
Generic Structure of News Item Text
1. Main Event/Newsworthy Event
The first news item text structure is the main event. Now, the main event/newsworthy event is the core of the news. The main event explains the summary of the news that will be explained.
2. Background Event/Elaboration
Then, what about the background event/elaboration? Background event/elaboration tells in detail about the background of the event. The details you should include in this section are the perpetrator, location, time of the event, other parties involved, and the background of the event.
3. Sources
Last but not least are the sources. When writing a news item text, don't forget to include the sources! In English, sources are called sources. The source can be a statement, comment, or opinion from parties related to the event.

Indonesian Maid Beheaded
An Indonesian housemaid has been executed in Saudi Arabia after being convicted of killing her employer, the Saudi Interior Minister said.
The woman was beheaded in the Southern Asir province in what was the second execution in the country.The maid was earlier found of suffocating her female boss and stealing her jewellery. Rape, murder and other serious crimes can carry the death penalty in the conservative desert kingdom.
Last year, Saudi Arabia, which follow a strict intepretation of Syaria, Islamic law executed more than 130 people
